Park Your Ride
You have probably heard about freshmen that are forced to leave their car at home only to be used by everyone but them. You have probably also heard about parking several miles from campus and riding the bus back to your room or about the outrageously inflated college parking fees.
These horror stories do not take place at Hiram College. Parking fees are reasonable and first year students may have cars. Our lots are adjacent to campus and since your ride will be in Hiram, your younger sibling won't give the dog a bath and let it air dry in your backseat.
We don't believe you should choose your college based on what will happen to your car. However, parking availability is a popular question for everyone. People leave for work early to get a good parking space. People circle the mall lot looking for something within a quarter mile. Cars are part of our lives, even at college.
The main lot on campus is known affectionately as "The Pit" (short for parking pit) and is located behind Booth and Centennial residence halls. As with all our parking lots, "The Pit" is well lit and accessible.
There are several smaller lots strategically placed around campus. Parking on the street is fine during the weekend and during weekdays. At night, Sunday through Thursday, the Village of Hiram asks that students make use of our convenient parking lots.
